But e-mail is not without problems. If you key in the name of an intended recipient but your message keeps bouncing back, you might not be singing e-mail's praises. Ditto for attachments that won't open or other such nuisances. With just a little patience, though, you can readily overcome most e-mail problems. What follows are 4 common e-mail problems along with solutions for overcoming them.

Problem – Returned Messages

This may be the most frustrating of all e-mail problems. After taking the time to create a message, you click on the “send” button and consider your task accomplished. But the next thing you know, the message pops up in your in-box with a heading that it did not reach its intended recipient.

Solutions

First, take the simple step of checking to see that the address of your recipient has been entered correctly. This may seem obvious, but sometimes the only thing wrong is a misplaced letter, the use of “com” instead of “net”, or some similar error. If you know the correct address, this is a straightforward matter of double checking each character. If not, you might need to experiment by sending multiple messages, or by entering alternative addresses with slight variations. Under this approach, you simply keep track of which messages are bounced back and compare them with the overall list of addresses you used. If you sent four variations but only three were returned, you have solved the problem by the process of elimination.

Sometimes the source of your problem lies with the recipient. If messages to other addresses go through but fail here, try to contact the intended recipient by other means and report the situation. The cause may range from a temporary problem with the recipient's server to a switch to another e-mail provider, to a full in box. In this case, simply waiting may be the best recourse. Or a phone call or other communication may be required on your part to obtain the correct e-mail address. If all your messages are being returned, you may have a connection problem. Problem 2 – You Have Lost Your Connection

Sometimes a failure to send or receive e-mail can be traced to a lost connection with your Internet service provider.

Solutions

If you see a “failure to connect” or “no response” message or have otherwise determined that you have failed to connect, double check to make certain there are no physical problems.

First, check your cables and connections. If you use a dial-up modem, listen to make sure it produces the normal high-pitched dialing sound. If not, the problem could be a loose connection. Locate the phone cord that runs from the back of your computer to the phone jack, and then make sure that each end is plugged in snugly.

If you will don't hear the expected dialing sound, check to make sure your phone cord is undamaged. If it seems worn, replace it with a new one. Other steps include making certain the line is plugged into the right port, and checking the phone jack by plugging the cord into a different jack. If you hear the dialing sound after any of these steps, you have made a successful connection.

Connection problems may be more common with dial-up modems than with broadband connections, but the latter are also dependent on physical connections. A loose wire or poorly connected cable can easily be problematic. Sometimes a glitch occurs that can be best addressed by repeating portions of the initial set-up process. A simple fix touted by Verizon technical service reps for some DSL (digital subscriber line) customers is to disconnect the three lines from the back of the modem and then reconnect them in a specified order. When this action is taken, the online connection is immediately regained.

If you are online but keep getting bumped off, the lost connection can be the result of an unintended software command. In Outlook Express, for example, you will find the command “Hang up when finished.” If the box in front of this phrase is checked, the connection will automatically be severed each time you send or download e-mail. Sometimes a misdirected click of your mouse will cause you to place a check in the box even though you do not realize it. Simply click on the check mark to make it disappear, and the hang-ups will cease.

For the first time in more than 100 years, much of the Southeast has reached the most severe category of drought, climatologists said Monday, creating an emergency so serious that some cities are just months away from running out of water.

In North Carolina, Gov. Michael F. Easley asked residents Monday to stop using water for any purpose "not essential to public health and safety".

In the Atlanta metropolitan area, which has more than four million people, worst-case analysis show that the city’s main source of water, Lake Lanier, could be drained dry in 90 to 121 days.

Within two weeks, Carol Couch, director of the Georgia Environmental Protection Division, is expected to send Gov. Sonny Perdue recommendations on tightening water restrictions, which may include mandatory cutbacks on commercial and industrial users.

If that happens, experts at the National Drought Mitigation Center said, it would be the first time a major metropolitan area in the United States had been forced to take such drastic action to save its water supply.

Recent studies show that:

Air pollution in major cities may be more damaging to health than the radiation exposure suffered by survivors of the 1986 Chernobyl disaster, according to a report published today.

The study suggests high levels of urban air pollution cut short life expectancy more than the radiation exposure of emergency workers who were sent into the 19-mile exclusion zone around the site straight after the accident.

Two explosions at the Chernobyl reactor killed three people immediately and more than 30 died from acute radiation poisoning, but the radioactive plume released from the reactor spread over most of Europe and is estimated to have caused up to 16,000 deaths.

The latest study follows a report last month from the Royal Commission on Environmental Pollution which said air pollution was responsible for 24,000 premature deaths in Britain every year.

Other findings this year showed that women living in areas of high air pollution were at greater risk of heart disease and death, while children living within 500m of motorways suffered more permanent lung damage and lower life expectancy, probably because of their greater exposure to pollutants in vehicle fumes.

Compensation Plan Clarification!

Some Max Associates have had questions regarding some of the finer points of
the Max Plan. Hopefully, the following information will help clarify these
questions.

#1 - Minimum CV Qualification

In order for an Associate's business center to qualify for Team Commissions,
it must generate a minimum of 50 commissionable volume (CV) each month. In
order for the business center to qualify for Matching Check Bonuses it must
generate a minimum of 100 CV each month. CV comes from an Associate's
personal purchases and from the Associate's Preferred Customer's purchases.

When an Associate purchases one box of Max GXL, the business center receives
66 CV. When an Associate's Preferred Customer purchases one box of Max GXL,
the business center receives 33 CV. Naturally, the best way to insure that
your business center has the necessary CV is by enrolling in the company's
autoship program.

Starting June 3, if a business center does not generate at least 50 CV in a
calendar month, then all the existing CV in both the pay leg and the strong
leg will be taken away (flushed) at the start of the next calendar month.

#2 - 500 CV Minimum Requirement

Starting June 3, an Associate must accumulate a minimum of 500 CV on their
pay leg in order to generate a Team Commission check for that calendar
month. (500 CV provides a $50.00 Team Commission Check.) If an Associate
does not accumulate a minimum of 500 CV in a calendar month, then as long as
the business center has accrued a minimum of 50 CV during the calendar
month, all existing pay leg CV will carry over to the next month.

#3 - FastTrack Commissions Modification

Starting June 3, because of significant Associate recommendations, FastTrack
Commissions will be modified to pay higher commissions to the enrolling
Associate.

A lot of Young Living Distributors, as well as a lot of people in general, have a problem resolving what seems to be a conflict between wanting to be of unselfish service to others and making money from offering that service. There is a verse in the Bible saying "It is more difficult for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven than for a camel to pass through the needle's eye." The phrase, "Needle's Eye," to which Jesus alluded was in reference to a particularly narrow gate into the city of Jerusalem through which camels could pass only by getting on their knees, not an actual needle. A misunderstanding of this verse has caused many to conclude that being rich, per se, is incompatible with living a spiritual life that is of service to others and pleasing to God. Nothing could be further from the truth. Here's why.

First of all, there is another scripture you need to note. It is a letter (III John 2) to a person called Gaius, an early church leader. The salutation begins: "Beloved, I wish above all things that you may prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers." In other words, John is saying that God wants us to prosper on all levels - materially, physically, and spiritually. There is no conflict in this. It is not one or the other. Material and spiritual prosperity are, in fact, related.

The Jews have a proverb: "Your wealth is a measure of your service to others." In other words, successful business people have to offer something of value to the public or the public won't buy their wares or services. So the more of your wares or services people buy, the more people appreciate and find benefit from what you offer. Hence, the more income you generate from what you offer in your business, the more people you have helped, and the greater has been your service to humankind.

Of course, in order to be true, this statement also requires that what you offer is actually beneficial and not harmful like selling drugs, etc. It is possible to become financially wealthy and engage in evil enterprises. But we are not talking about that. John's Third Letter (verse 11) also says "He that does good is of God: but he that does evil has not seen God." It does not matter if you are wealthy or poor, evil is evil and good is good. The point being that wealth is not contradictory to doing good. In fact, to do the most good in the world, affluence is an asset and, on some level, essential to accomplishing your charitible intent. As for offering oils to the public, how good is that? It is a blessing to everyone.

It is rare that a person living in poverty can make any great contribution to the welfare of others when they have to spend all of their time just surviving themselves. One needs a level of affluence to afford to be generous with both their time and their resources.

However, if you personally choose poverty as a way to focus on God instead of focusing on self-serving human desires, like Sister Theresa, things are different. Even Sister Theresa, while choosing a simple lifestyle for herself, needed to attract many contributors to support her cause, without which her work would have been limited. So the principle of affluence applies even in cases like hers. In fact, spiritual people of wealth often choose to live comfortable yet frugal lives in order to give more in material goods and service to others.

Jesus came to bring a Gospel that would last for the ages. Even though once he began his ministry and did not engage in an occupation that generated income, he could not have carried out his ministry full-time without financial assistance. In Luke 10:7 he told his disciples, "The laborer deserves to be paid." Those whom he and his disciples served were expected to provide food, lodging, and the necessities of life.

Jesus, himself, came from a comfortable upper middle class family whose breadwinner, Joseph, was a successful carpenter, an occupation that was above average and well-paid in those days. Jesus' disciples were not poor either, otherwise they could not have been able to engage in a full-time ministry without placing undo hardship on their families. James, John, Andrew and Peter owned a fleet of fishing boats. Matthew was a wealthy tax collector and use his accumulated resources, including his palatial home, to support the Gospel mission. St. Paul had a tent-making business and, in addition to the contributions received from those whom he served, he supported his missionary travels from his own pocket.

Jesus also had wealthy friends including Nicodemas who owned an Inn, Joseph of Arimathea who was a wealthy sea merchant engaging in international trade, and Lazarus who was a well-to-do land owner who often provided food and living quarters for Jesus and his disciples. In Luke 8:1-3 we learn that there were many wealthy women who provided for Jesus and his disciples "from their resources." These included women of political status such as Joanna, a member of Herod's Court.

Jesus built his church on network marketing principles. He personally sponsored more twelve people who, in turn, sponsored hundreds who, in turn, sponsored thousands and ultimately millions reaching down through the centuries to the present. Network marketing is simply sharing what you have in a way that those receiving will have everything you have, be it spiritual goods or material. Because we live in a material world, material resources are necessary. Network marketing is the perfect vehicle by which the spiritual and the material can work together in mutual support.

I like the concept of this Jewish proverb where your income is considered a measure of your service. Of course, it needs some interpretation and adaptation. If you offer a harmful or debilitating product, like cocaine, you might make a lot of money, but will have no spiritual satisfaction nor joy in your trade. In general, and properly taken, the proverb is true.

If its not one thing, it’s another. That is one of those ridiculous phrases that pretty much goes without saying. Like "wherever you go, there you are." But, in this case it seems appropriate to me.

Here is what I mean. Computers on the Internet are almost constantly bombarded with viruses and other malware - so everybody uses antivirus software to protect themselves. Email inboxes are constantly flooded with pathetically useless spam - so users employ anti-spam programs and techniques to protect themselves. As soon as you think you have things under control you find out your system is swamped with spyware and adware programs silently running in the background monitoring and reporting on your computer activity. Hence, "if it’s not one thing, it’s another."

The more benign spyware and adware simply monitors and tracks the sites you visit on the web so that companies can determine the web-surfing habits of their users and try to pinpoint their marketing efforts. But many forms of spyware go beyond simple tracking and actually monitor keystrokes and capture passwords and other functions which cross the line and pose a definite security risk. Then you have, as they say at the Pentagon, a "situation."

How can you protect yourself from these insidious little programs? Ironically, many users unknowingly agree to install these programs. In fact, removing some spyware and adware might render some freeware or shareware programs useless. Below are 5 easy steps you can follow to try to avoid or at least detect and remove these programs from your computer system:

1. Be Careful Where You Download: Unscrupulous programs often come from unscrupulous sites. If you are looking for a freeware or shareware program for a specific purpose try searching reputable sites like download.com or my personal favorite - majorgeeks.com.
2. Read the EULA: What is an EULA you ask? It's the End User License Agreement. It's all of the technical and legal jazz in that box above the radio buttons that say "No, I do not accept" or "Yes, I have read and accept these terms." Most people consider this a nuisance and click on "yes" without having read a word. The EULA is a legal agreement you are making with the software vendor. Without reading it you may be agreeing to install spyware or a variety of other questionable actions that may not be worth it to you. Sometimes the better answer is "No, I do not accept." Even if you don't read a contract you can legally be held to it!
3. Read Before You Click: Sometimes when you visit a web site a text box might pop up. Like the EULA, many users simply consider these a nuisance and will just click away to make the box disappear. Users will click "yes" or "ok" without stopping to see that the box said "would you like to install our spyware program?" Ok, admittedly they don't generally come out and say it that directly, but that is all the more reason you should stop to read those messages before you click "ok".
4. Protect Your System: Antivirus software is a little misnamed these days. Viruses are just a small part of the malicious code these programs protect you from. Antivirus has expanded to include worms, trojans, vulnerability exploits, jokes and hoaxes and even spyware and adware. If your antivirus product doesn't detect and block spyware you should check out a product like INVISUS PC Security System which I sell on YourTechMall! Another excellent choice is Spybot Search and Destroy which is also available for free.

If you follow these five steps you can keep your system protected from spyware proactively and detect and remove any that does manage to get into your system. It’s that easy!

I have been working hard investigating Ethos and 4E for fraud and misrepresentation on a corporate level and product liability investigation. I am sure that many of you have seen my postings to the Internet. I would like to take this time to inform you of my findings from reviewing all documents. Many people supplied me with these documents which were in direct contrast with my findings. I have had meetings with several governmental agencies concerning this venture. Many man hours were spent on this investigation and traveling to all parts of the world to“SEE FOR MYSELF”. When I worked with the FBI as an Operative, it took years investigating federal violations. The PRSI/CITX Scam that I worked on took 6 years with all parties being found guilty and spending time in prison. After reviewing the documents I uncovered and the documents which were presented to me by all the individuals at Ethos, Vortex and 4E, along with the documents provided by my associates, I might have unintentionally misstated some facts about EthroFR and 4E Corporation and . LET ME CORRECT THAT, I did present information which was inconclusive.

Many changes have been made concerning the marketing of the Ethos Product. This was done by professional legal experts in the MLM Sector. After reviewing these documents with the attorneys, we have now cleared up the indiscretions and misrepresentations. All Start-Up companies have their problems and I guess that is why we have attorneys to clarify matters in plain English It surprised me to learn that Joel Sauceda from the Vortex Group lived in my home town of San Antonio, Texas. We had many things in common and even went to school with several of his associates. Joel Sauceda is a person who I know and who I consider to be professional and ethical and possesses the moral, business and personal background and runs an ethical company. He and I spoke at great length of Dan Atkinson and I learned a lot of information concerning his background. Joel was persistent in bringing certain truths to me during this debate. For example, Joel told me the truth about Dan Atkinson and Miguel Gallimore and shared a lot of information with me that was not presented in the beginning of this ordeal.

From what I have seen and heard from Joel, Dan is a man who will stand strong for what he believes in and has done an excellent job running the day to day business at 4E and Miguel has been a tremendous help in the re-birth of the business.. I have had conferences with Dan and he been able to provide me with important information to satisfy the companies operating procedure. If not for Joel's sharing of what he found on his visit to 4-E corporate, I would not be writing this letter. They along with other distributors (Steve Lee, Malcolm Peters, Alan Sickman and others)stood their ground and had the integrity to come forward and meet to clear the air even though they were misled by certain people who had their own motives.

Everyone agreed that there was a lack of communication and we are now proceeding accordingly. From documents that I had reviewed and authenticated, it reflected on many things concerning the justifiable mistakes made by Ethos Environmental and 4E Corporation that were made at the early stages of the organization. Their facts were based on a lack of communications from several principals. Progressive advertisement is not illegal, false advertising is criminal. Whose job was it to decipher these terms and representations when the information was made public? I don’t know! All I do know is that Ethos Environmental and 4E Corporation are now in good, legal standing. I spoke with Dan Atkinson today and appreciated his honesty and now have a better understanding of why certain things happened the way they did.

Due to in-depth investigations of the companies and my extensive discussions with Joel Sauceda and other key leaders, I feel that I now have all the facts. In their present state, and future operations, I will say that Ethos and 4E have truly turned this company into a powerhouse based on the recent restructuring of the operation. The entire group has the ability to transform this operation into a very successful and profitable company. People come and go but it is those that stay who have the fortitude to succeed. Again, I want to apologize for any discrepancies, misrepresentation and mutual trials and tribulations that we have all made. Now that the business operation is properly structured, great things will be coming. I want everyone to know that after this intense investigation of the company’s principals, their staff, their investors and their PRODUCT, I will be signing up for my first ride with the MLM Express known as Ethos Environmental. We are so pleased to be a special part of the Emmy’s this year. Today we have our suite set up, along with the other vendors who are part of the gift bag of goodies, for the celebrity presenters. This year’s goodie bag exceeds $56,000.00 in value.

The celebrity presenters will be given a one year’s supply of Ethos FR for their personal use. So many of the celebrities are environmentally conscientious, and they have been thrilled that such a product as Ethos FR is a part of their gift bag.
